I attended Cloud Native Security Con in Seattle with full intention of crushing OTEL day, then perusing the subject of security applied to Cloud Native workloads the following days leading up to CTF as a professional excercise. This was happily upended by a new understanding of eBPF, which got my screens, career, workloads, and atitude a much needed upgrade with new approaches to solving workload problems.

So I made it to the eBPF party and have been attending clinic after clinic on the subject ever since, here I would like to "unbox" eBPF as a technical solution, mapped directly to what we do in practice (even if its a bit off), and step through eBPF through my experimentation on supporting InterSystems IRIS Workloads, particularly on Kubernetes, but not necessarily void on standalone workloads.

Hello,

Does anyone know if intersystems has a support document/ support guide on "Healthshare"? We need to share it with our L1 support team.

Any support document with a few known issues with their resolution, that the L1 team can expect and resolve?

I have a BPL Business process which always processes messages - mainly it waits for responses since downstream systems are seriously async.

I need to update this process.

Wwould the existing instances of this Business Process complete correctly after the update?

My BPL changes would result in:

  1. New S method in the Thread class
  2. New OnResponse method in the context class

Both changes are in the middle of the process, so there are S/OnResponse methods before and after my change.

An introduction to virtual documents

Ensemble virtual documents enable your productions to work with large and complex documents with little overhead.

What is a virtual document?

A virtual document is a special kind of Ensemble message, for use with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages and with XML documents.

How are virtual documents different from standard messages?

If both fields are numeric and the result of subtraction of field1-field2 is positive, only then put the result is a data field.

I am doing this within an Iris DTL.

I don't find any functions like IsNumeric(). Once I get that, I can test if field1>0 and field2>0, do the subtraction, and test if diff>0.

I just need a function to determine if they are numeric, rather than some cumbersome way like a regex where the only characters are 0-9.

I see functions in documentation but don't see them used at tests, only in WRITE statements.

IRIS for UNIX (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 for x86-64) 2024.1 (Build 267_2U) Tue Apr 30 2024 16:06:39 EDT [HealthConnect:7.2.0-1.r1]

I have a use case where Epic is sending an A60 Allergy transaction is set at the Patient level, but we have a system called VIBE which needs the ADT at an Encounter level instead. Currently we store ADT information in a MS SQL database for years, and we are querying it to get the latest Account Number to insert into the ADT^A60 for VIBE.

Hi,

We're using a database gateway from IRIS to Oracle using ODBC. It has been occurring a character set issue that invalidate special characters.

Oracle support has found data type missmatch in ODBC debug while transfering data between the databases.

ODBC was download from official website.

Is there any Intersystems contact to send it to check whether there is a ODBC issue? I hasn't found any directy contact in Intersystems in website.

After setting AllowedIPAddresses with a valid IP address

Is there a way to add/substract from a pivot variable?

I have this MDX:

SELECT
  NON EMPTY [DateOfSale].[Actual].[YearSold].&[$variable.Year] ON 0,
  NON EMPTY [Product].[P1].[Product Name].Members ON 1
FROM [HOLEFOODS]

And with pivot variable Year equal to, say, 2016 it works:
